Celebrate National Ex-Spouse Day with Fait & DiLima, Maryland Family Lawyers

ROCKVILLE, Maryland—April 14 is National Ex-Spouse Day, and Fait & DiLima, Maryland Family Lawyers, are celebrating. Marjorie G. DiLima, Managing Partner, and Dorothy R. Fait, Partner in Fait & DiLima, LLP, acknowledge the importance of this day and would like to take a moment to recognize it.

National Ex-Spouse Day honors those who have gone through the divorce or separation process. Some suggested ways to observe National Ex-Spouse Day include:

  • Come to terms with your divorce.
  • Forgive your ex so you can move on. It’s as much for them as it is for you.
  • Find something positive about your ex-spouse that will help ease any lasting bitterness.
  • Visit with other divorcees to discuss how they coped with their divorces.
  • Use #NationalExSpouseDay to post on social media.

“Divorce can be a difficult process for everyone involved,” says DiLima. “It’s important to take time to recognize the emotions that come with going through this life-altering experience and to remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel.”

Fait adds, “We are proud and honored to help people navigate such an emotionally challenging time. On National Ex-Spouse Day and every day, I encourage our clients and everyone who has made it through a divorce to reflect on the event and congratulate themselves for making a fresh start.”

The Fait & DiLima team knows from experience that divorce can be an overwhelming experience for many individuals. About National Ex-Spouse Day

Reverend Ronald Coleman of Kansas City, Missouri, created National Ex-Spouse Day in 1987 as a way to dissolve the bitterness that is often associated with divorce. In its inaugural year, Rev. Coleman offered buttons that read, “I’m OK – You’re History,” to help lighten the day. He hoped more people would forgive their spouses and focus on the positive aspects of their own lives.
